Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

The Author Guideline serves as a guide for authors in creating manuscripts to be submitted to the editorial team, as well as a reference for editors and reviewers in evaluating the manuscripts. Academics, researchers, and practitioners intending to submit their manuscripts to the Jurnal Ilmu Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam are expected to adhere to the guidelines and the journal's template.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION

  1. Submitted articles must be original and not previously published or under consideration by another journal.
  2. All content in the manuscript must be original and not plagiarized, fabricated, or omitted. Any form of plagiarism is not the responsibility of the Jurnal Ilmu Ekonomi and Bisnis Islam.
  3. Adherence to the writing guidelines, template, and publication ethics of the Jurnal Ilmu Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam is essential.
  4. The discussion should be predominant in the writing, and the scientific writing criteria should be:
    • Objective: based on factual conditions
    • Up to date: reflecting the latest scientific developments
    • Rational: providing a platform for constructive criticism
    • Candid: not overly demanding, honest, straightforward, and not personally motivated
    • Effective and Efficient: an Engaging Communication Medium with Precise Research Methods Following the Guidelines of the Jurnal Ilmu Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam
  5. The article title should be interesting, new, clear, and provide information related to the article, with a maximum of 24 words in Book Antiqua font size 20 pt.
  6. Articles should be written in English with correct grammar.
  7. Articles should include the author's name (without academic titles), affiliation, and correspondence in Book Antiqua font size 12 pt. Complete author biodata, email, phone number, and ORCID ID (if available) should be included during submission.
  8. English keywords should be 3-5 words long, with a comma separating each phrase.
  9. Articles should be presented in various sections, including:
    • Introduction
    • Literature Review
    • Research Method
    • Results and discussion
    • Conclusion
    • Acknowledgments (optional)
    • References
  10. Authors must submit articles through the Journal of Islamic Economics and Business Science's OJS at https://jurnaljiebi.org/ after registering.

ARTICLE PREPARATION

Manuscripts submitted to the Jurnal Ilmu Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam can be in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF format (.doc/.docx or.rtf) with the following specifications:

  1. Manuscripts should be written in English with correct grammar.
  2. A4 paper size (210 x 297 mm): top margin 3 cm, bottom, left 2.5 cm, and right 1.7 cm.
  3. Generally, each paragraph should be written in Book Antiqua font size 11 pt. Spacing: 1.15, 0 pt before and after spacing.
  4. Manuscript titles are written in Book Antiqua font size 20pt, bold, in capital letters with single spacing and left alignment (Align Left).
  5. Titles of tables, table contents, images, diagrams, charts, graphs, and sketches are written in Book Antiqua font size 11pt with single spacing. Left-alignment is used.
  6. The reference list is written in Book Antiqua font size 11pt with 1.15 spacing and justified alignment.
  7. The first line of each paragraph starts after 1 cm (first line, 1 cm) from the left margin. Justified alignment is used.
  8. To enhance quality, articles must meet a minimum of 5000 words and a maximum of 9,000 words.

WRITING STRUCTURE

This article is written with the following structure:

  1. Title: The title should be concise, reflecting the overall content and novelty of the article, in no more than 24 words. It can use common abbreviations. The title is written in Book Antiqua font size 20pt, bold, in capital letters with single spacing and left alignment.
  2. Author Name: The author's name is written in full without titles or abbreviations, using the original name. It is written in Book Antiqua font size 12pt, with left alignment.
  3. Author Affiliation: Affiliation includes the address of the institution where the author works or studies. The affiliation that must be stated in the text is the department and university or institution. It is written in Book Antiqua font size 10pt, with left alignment.
  4. Abstract: The abstract is written in English and should not contain formulas or references. It should be concise, covering the introduction, research gap, objectives, methodology, findings, conclusion, and research implications and contributions. The abstract is written in one paragraph and should not exceed 250 words in English. The abstract title is written in capital letters, Book Antiqua font size 11pt, and left alignment.
  5. Keywords: Each abstract must include keywords written in Indonesian or English, consisting of 3-5 words. Keywords should avoid general terms, plural terms, and many concepts. Keywords should not exceed 5 words or phrases. Book Antiqua font size 10pt is used, with left alignment.
  6. Introduction: The introduction includes the issue, phenomenon, fundamentals, or problems underlying the article, explicitly stating the research gap and highlighting the research novelty. The word "Introduction" is written in capital letters, bold, Book Antiqua font size 11pt with 1.15 spacing, and justified alignment.
  7. Literature Review: The literature review contains theoretical foundations, i.e., a description of the theories used to support the discussion of research results or previous research, and also contains previous research and hypotheses. All references used in the literature review and article content (used as citations) must be in the References list. The word "Literature Review" is written in capital letters, bold, Book Antiqua font size 11pt with 1.15 spacing, and justified alignment.
  8. Research Method: The research method will outline the design of activities, scope or object, materials, main tools, location, data collection techniques, operational definitions of research variables, and data analysis techniques. This section includes research design, population and sample, development of research instruments, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques, summarized briefly. The word "Research Method" is written in capital letters, bold, Book Antiqua font size 11pt with 1.15 spacing, and justified alignment.
  9. Results and Discussion: The content of Results and Discussion is data that has been processed or analyzed using the prescribed method. The discussion reviews the results obtained related to the research problem. Authors are allowed to compare it with concepts or theories found in the literature review, describe new things found in the study, and/or discuss research results in line with the problem. The content of the results and discussion includes statements, tables, images, diagrams, graphs, sketches, etc. The words "Results and Discussion" are written in capital letters, bold, Book Antiqua font size 11pt with 1.15 spacing, and justified alignment.
  10. Conclusion: The conclusion is a summary of the research conducted, should not repeat the discussion results, and is written in a paragraph. The conclusion content begins with the main goal or research target. Then, follow that goal by stating the research method. After that, present the main results of the study and its implications briefly. After the results, state the limitations of the study and provide practical suggestions for further researchers. The word "conclusion" is written in capital letters, bold, Book Antiqua font size 11pt with 1.15 spacing, and justified alignment.
  11. References: References are the reference sources used in writing the article. The number of reference sources used as a bibliography must be a minimum of 20 titles of scientific literature and 80% of journals that can be accessed online (display permalink/DOI). There is primary, current, and pertinent information referring to the bibliography with each reference. Reference sources (not bibliographies) should be as much as possible from the last 5–10 years and prioritized from primary sources, such as books and articles in scientific journals or magazines. The word "References" is written in capital letters, bold, Book Antiqua font size 11pt with 1.15 spacing, and justified alignment.
  12. All references use the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style. Authors must use reference management applications such as Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or others.

These guidelines aim to ensure consistency in article submissions and facilitate the review process. Authors are encouraged to carefully follow these guidelines when preparing and submitting their manuscripts.
